Planning Access During Storage Facility Work

Storage-facility repairs can affect tenant access even when work is limited to a roof or building exterior. Map the routes and operating commitments first, then separate the building and site work and agree how completed areas will be handed back.

Identify access commitments

Mark tenant entrances, loading areas, internal drives and gates on a site plan. Discuss which routes can be affected and how the property team will communicate temporary arrangements.

Separate building and site work

Distinguish roof and enclosure repairs from doors, pavement, drainage and other site components. Record the interfaces that require more than one trade or owner decision.

Agree work-area release

Ask how completed areas will be inspected and returned to use. Include debris removal, security interfaces and unresolved punch items in the handover record.
