Establish what can be assessed safely
Follow officials’ access instructions after a fire. The responsible specialists need to document structural, electrical, smoke, water and material concerns. Their findings help separate cleaning or treatment from removal and reconstruction, and identify which costs remain uncertain until more assessment is complete.
Keep distinct work packages
- Assessment, testing, design, and investigation.
- Temporary protection and authorized stabilization.
- Contents handling and specialist cleaning or remediation.
- Selective removal, debris handling, and disposal.
- Structural and building-system repair or replacement.
- Insulation, wall and ceiling assemblies, finishes, and fixtures.
- Applicable approvals, testing, closeout, and owner-requested upgrades.
Reconcile funding and scope separately
For each package, record the proposed amount, authorization status, responsible provider, and funding status. A reconstruction estimate is not a statement of insurance coverage; keep optional improvements separate from the damage repair work.
Separate assessed repair from unresolved work
Build the reconstruction package from rooms and building components, identifying retained, repaired and replaced work. Carry relevant professional assessments and the specialist-cleanup handoff into that scope.
Keep structural questions, concealed damage and undecided finishes as identified open items. Separate owner upgrades from the loss-related repair package so payment and authorization are clear.
Compare the construction estimate with any insurer scope by item, without assuming the two documents establish the same obligations. Coverage, deductibles and claim decisions stay with the insurer and the owner’s advisers.
What settles the remaining uncertainty
Bring the property address, scope, available plans and the assumptions behind your budget to AmeriConstruction. Identify the information still needed for pricing, the decisions that could change the total and the person who can approve them. Confirm project fit, any assessment charges and proposal requirements directly with the team.
