Define the roof assembly and what will be removed
Ask what stays, what is removed and how hidden deck or substrate damage will be measured and priced. Include the covering, underlayment or insulation, attachment, flashing and edge work that applies to the roof. Separate these items from optional material upgrades so you can see what changes the total.
Use a roof comparison worksheet
- Measured area and assembly identified for each roof section.
- Removal, disposal, access, lifting, and staging.
- Deck or substrate repairs: included quantity or a clear pricing method.
- Insulation, covering, flashing, penetrations, and drainage details.
- Temporary weather protection and interior or landscape protection.
- Permits, applicable inspections, and closeout documents.
- Optional assemblies and written warranty differences.
Avoid a covering-only comparison
Check that competing proposals handle the same interfaces and existing-condition assumptions. A lower initial amount can simply reflect omitted work; resolve those gaps before selecting a scope.
Compare assemblies rather than a single roof price
For a like-for-like replacement, measure the roof and list tear-off, disposal, the selected covering, underlayment or insulation, flashing and ventilation. Identify deck repairs by an included quantity or an agreed pricing method.
For a change of material or assembly, show what changes in attachment, supporting work and detailing. Compare the complete scope with the like-for-like option, including any design or review required.
Use measured quantities multiplied by the applicable labor/material rates, then add access, disposal, permits, allowances and other identified project costs. The roofing planner lets you enter your assumptions; it does not supply a market quote.
What settles the remaining uncertainty
Bring the property address, scope, available plans and the assumptions behind your budget to AmeriConstruction. Identify the information still needed for pricing, the decisions that could change the total and the person who can approve them. Confirm project fit, any assessment charges and proposal requirements directly with the team.
