Distinguish finish work from layout changes
List what stays and what moves. A new cabinet finish is a different scope from relocating a sink, opening a wall, or reworking lighting and air distribution. Mark those decisions on a room plan before comparing prices.
Coordinate the selections
- Confirm cabinet dimensions and appliance or equipment information together.
- Review flooring transitions, base, door clearances, and adjoining finishes.
- Identify who selects and purchases fixtures, hardware, tile, and paint.
- Agree on a sample or mockup when color, texture, or installation detail matters.
Plan how the space will be used during work
Discuss dust separation, material storage, delivery access, work hours, and any temporary loss of a kitchen, restroom, or business area. Closeout should include a room-by-room review and a record of unresolved items.
