Manufacturer material warranties, broader system guarantees, and contractor workmanship agreements can address different issues. GAF’s commercial comparison distinguishes coverage types and eligibility; it does not establish that any particular project or contractor qualifies.
Read the terms that affect a future claim
- Covered products, work, and causes of loss.
- Exclusions, monetary limits, proration, and any owner costs.
- Installation, inspection, registration, and payment conditions.
- Maintenance obligations, notification deadlines, and repair procedures.
- Transfer rules and responsibility after rooftop alterations.
Keep the issued documents
At closeout, request the actual issued warranty or guarantee, relevant invoices, product information, and maintenance instructions. If a promised document has not been issued, record who will obtain it and when; a proposal reference alone is not the final coverage record.
