Describe the inspection questions separately
For suspected wind effects, ask about displaced, missing, or otherwise affected roofing and its attachments. For suspected hail effects, ask what material damage was found at impact locations. Do not assume every dent, loose granule, or aged surface proves a covered loss.
Request evidence by roof area
- Location, roofing material, observed condition, and photographs.
- Relevant flashing, edge, penetration, or deck findings.
- Areas not inspected and any further specialist or concealed-condition review.
Translate the findings into repair options
Have the contractor explain the repair boundary and any reason a localized repair is unsuitable. Ask the insurer separately about covered cause, deductible, and valuation. Stay on the ground and let qualified personnel perform roof access and testing.
