PVC as part of the roof assembly
PVC sheets form the roof’s weather surface and are joined at welded seams. Flashing connects that surface to walls, drains, roof edges and equipment. The deck, insulation and attachment support the system beneath it.
PVC products differ by formulation and specification. Where grease, oils or other equipment discharge affect a roof, the actual substances and conditions need a manufacturer compatibility review for the proposed product.
Repair and replacement decisions
An existing PVC roof with a localized defect may be a candidate for compatible repair. The assessment should consider the surrounding membrane and any evidence of problems beneath the surface.
For replacement, compare what comes off, what stays and how insulation, drainage and equipment details will be addressed. TPO or modified bitumen may also be considered where appropriate; the recommendation should explain the building-specific reason for the selected system.

Plan material staging, daily protection and roof access around the property’s operations. Equipment work and future penetrations need clear responsibilities so other trades can coordinate with the roofing.
